New businesses need to tell people about their existence and the services or products they provide.
Advertising need not be expensive and usual methods include :
- Business cards that state your name, address, telephone number, fax number and email address. It should also state the service or product you provide.
- Flyers (usually printed on A5 paper) provide more detail about your commodity.
- Advertising in local press can be useful, but can become expensive.
- Check your local radio stations for advertising rates.
- The Yellow Pages is a cheap and very effective advertising method.
- You may wish to develop your own website, which gives you access to a worldwide market.
- To use Google as an advertising tool, you would first have to create a website. Google has a system in place where you can pay per click. Refer to Google for more information.
- The best form of advertising is by word of mouth – if you do a good job quickly and at a competitive rate, word will get around and you should get more business.
